Robert Rosenbaum, MD, FAANS, FACS, is a board certified neurosurgeon and practicing medical acupuncturist. He maintains an active practice at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
His work with head injured patients gives him a unique perspective in the prevention, pre-hospital, acute care, and chronic sequelae of this life altering event.
He is actively engaged with industry leaders in the development of smaller, more accurate, and less invasive cerebral monitoring and protective devices.
Spinal care with an emphasis on emerging and advanced technologies has been his focus for over five years. He performs minimally invasive and endoscopic spinal procedures and works diligently to enhance the utilization of newly identified treatment options such as stem cell therapies for all forms of neurologic diseases.
Dr. Rosenbaum has been a trainer for different Crew Resource Management based patient safety platforms intended to reduce in-hospital errors and improve patient outcomes which not only saves lives, but reduces morbidity and lost work days and controls costs.
He trains physicians, patients, and the general public in the general care of the human spine, work-place injury prevention, postural implications of the work site, health maintenance, and fitness, with special focus on living an active lifestyle with and without spinal disease and discomfort.
